New Pokemon for Pokemon X and Y Revealed

*Update: Seems like it was a hoax. Good renditions though, eh?

It seems like two new Pokemon, presumably the obligatory Bug-type and Flying-type Pokemon that you’ll encounter early in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, have been revealed! Meet Yamutsu (the Bug-type Pokemon on the left) and Bitoyui (the Flying-type Pokemon on the right). The names are rough translations of their Japanese counterparts, so please keep in mind that they may not be the official names when the game launches later in October 2013.

To note, the Pokemon you see above are an artist’s sprite rendition. As you know, Pokemon is moving away from sprite-based animation to full, 3D polygon models reminiscent of the Pokemon Stadium/Coliseum/Battle Revolution games. So, by all means, these are what the Pokemon could’ve looked like if Pokemon X and Pokemon Y kept the traditional sprite-based formula. In any case, I wonder what these Pokemon would evolve into…

Pokemon Meloetta Event Announced

The legendary Pokemon, Meloetta, is finally getting its own event here in North America! According to Pokemon Dungeon, Meloetta will be distributed through GameStop locations (no Wi-Fi?), but will be available for both Black/White and Black 2/White 2 versions of the game. No move set and stats have been announced, but you can pick up Meloetta starting March 4th through March 24th!
