All posts for the day February 3rd, 2013

Are you ready for your Saturday nights/too-early Sunday mornings to get a lot cooler? Well, Adult’s Swim Toonami section is getting set to air Soul Eater! For those of you who don’t know, Soul Eater is about an academy of soul reapers, kind of like your run-of-the-mill Hogwarts, but for soul reapers. The series focuses on a group of kids made up of two pairs and one three-person team, as they learn the basics of reaping souls, stopping evil, and learning the values of life. All of this, mind you, with some incredibly hilarious jokes (look for Excalibur!).

Toonami is set to air the first episode of Soul Eater beginning February 17, 2013, replacing Samurai 7 once it ends. Though you’ll have to look for channel listings to find out which channel you’ll find Cartoon Network/Adult Swim on, you can catch the show at 1:30 AM each Sunday!

If you’ve been looking for a person that’s got some crazy good musical talent and is one of the biggest nerds in the industry, look no further than the amazing Christina Grimmie!

Starting her YouTube channel on February 9, 2009, she kicked things off with a cover of Miley Cyrus’ “Don’t Wanna be Torn,” but YouTube viewers may be more familiar with a later collaboration of hers with Kurt Schneider and Sam Tsui in a rendition of Nelly’s “Just a Dream.”

She’s both highly energetic and soulful, greeting her fans at the start of each video before delivering a mind-blowing experience. With her immersive, soulful style, she makes each song she covers her own. There are times, however, where she will abuse autotune to hilarious, yet surprisingly well-done, proportions, which she dubs as “All That Is Random.”

A while back, she released her first original album named “Find Me,” which focuses her signature style into various songs that you might never hear anywhere else. With 8 original songs under her belt (as well as the 6 installments of All That Is Random), she has showcased an incredible potential that outweighs most musical artists in the mainstream industry today.

Also, if you’re lucky enough, you may be able to challenge her to a game of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, though be warned: she is quite good at the game! With a mix of musical talent, undeniable nerdiness, an energetic nature, and soulful styles, Christina Grimmie is one of the most original people in the music industry!
