High School of the Dead Hiatus Coming to an End

If you’re like one of the many fans of the surprising hit anime, High School of the Dead, then you might remember the sudden hiatus that it took beginning March 2011. Here we are, 2 years later, and the series is set to end its (manga) hiatus.

Of course, for those who don’t know, High School of the Dead is an anime set in Japan during a massive zombie epidemic. The story centers around a group of high schoolers and a nurse, fending off zombies and surviving. Also, the series is also known for its, erm, generous amount of fan-service, so aside from the bloody zombies, this series is definitely not for kids.

In either case, the announcement comes from a wrap-around band that was packaged with the 5th and 6th volumes of the series’ manga, and though the release date of future manga (as well as the possible continuation of the anime) has yet to be announced, it’s nice to see the series come back!

The Nintendo eShop is a cash-based service and features games, applications and videos. 30-Year Video Game Collection Placed on eBay for $550,000 USD

eBay, you’re crazy. From artful sketches of Misty on a Tour Guide of the Underworld card, to cardborad cutouts of the Wii U GamePad, eBay users really do have a ton of money to spend on stuff.

So, here’s the next big thing: a video game collection that has been in the works for about 30 years, containing over 6,850 games, over 330 consoles, about 220 controllers, and about 185 accessories. Though we obviously can’t list everything that this guy is selling (usual warning, this guy doesn’t have any eBay feedback ratings, so buyer beware), we can give you some highlights.

First off, you’re usual games, such as the classic Nintendo franchises Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Kirby games can be in the mix. Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, and Super Robot Taisen are also a few series that will be included. Collector items include the Hitachi Gamenavi Saturn, the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Pearl White GameCube, 2 20th Mario Anniversary Famicom-colored Game Boy Advance SP, and the limited edition Metal Gear Solid PSP. The collection itself is a mixed of sealed/unsealed items, and also items across all of the major regions (Japan, Europe, and United States).

When Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity releases for Nintendo 3DS on March 24, it will include a bevy of exciting features. Starting on launch day, downloadable content will be available for purchase on a regular basis in the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS. The downloadable content includes new Mystery Dungeons to explore, new items to collect and new Pokémon to interact with. As a special treat for fans, the first piece of downloadable content, the Poké Forest Mystery Dungeon, will be free to download from launch day until April 30. Three additional downloadable Mystery Dungeons will be available to purchase when the game launches, and additional content will launch regularly throughout April.

In addition to the single-player dungeon exploration of Hero Mode, the game includes local multiplayer for up to four players in Companion Mode. By connecting wirelessly, players can work together to explore new Mystery Dungeons and collect experience and items that carry over to Hero Mode. Players can also help out other players by tagging them using the StreetPass feature and reviving their fallen Pokémon using Reviver Seeds.

Today also marks the launch of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity website, where Pokémon fans can see more Pokémon they’ll meet in the game, learn more about Companion Mode and other game features, and view a new video full of dungeon sneak peeks. Ouya Set for Yearly Hardware Revisions

The Ouya is fast approaching for those who have either supported the project through Kickstarter, or pre-ordered it from the guys behind Ouya themselves! In any case, it was announced that the Ouya console is being planned for yearly hardware updates, which Ouya’s CEO Julie Uhrman stating that a problem with major home consoles was an uncertain update schedule (to note, the last generation of consoles, Nintendo Wii, XBOX 360, and PS3, has been the longest generation to date).

So, what will this mean for you? For starters, there’ll be a new Ouya console each year with more advanced specifications. As of now, the Ouya will have a Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, so we may be seeing a Tegra 4 processor in the 2014 model. Also, since the consoles will be updated regularly each year (like how Apple used to do for their products), the model for buying and keeping games will be similar to the popular Steam service, that is, the games aren’t tied to the console, but the user. If this all sounds good to you, be sure to pick up the Ouya this June for $99 USD!
