League of Legends’ Lunar Revel Event Commenses, Brings 5 New Skins

Happy Chinese New Years guys! League of Legends just recently kicked off its Lunar Revel event, and with it, comes some pretty awesome new skins! To help out the mood, the gifting option is now back, so you can help unlock a new champion, skin, or boost for that special summon (Valentine’s Day is coming up, so why not?).

So, who’ll be getting new skins this time around? Annie, Corki, Cassiopeia, Xin Zhao, and Jarvan IV! You can check out all of their skins below. In addition, a new set of ward skins have been unlocked for 16 days, so you can choose which one you want to use by going to the League of Legends store, choosing the Ward Skins tab, and selecting your brand new ward skin!

Also to note, there are now some new “achievement” summoner icons you can earn throughout the event: 1) Purchase RP as a gift, 2) Purchase a champion or skin as a gift, 3) Purchase a 2013 Lunar Revel skin as a gift, 4) Play a pre-made 5v5 match, and 5) Earn the other 4 summoner icons.

The event ends on February 25, 2013, so get your new skins and summoner icons before they’re all gone!

League of Legends’ Honor Initiative Changes Incoming

Have you enjoyed League of Legends’ Honor Initiative? Players across the world have been striving to earn ribbons, and though the most common one is the Honorable Opponent ribbon, there are some changes incoming for the system.

First off, for existing players with ribbons, some may be granted new ribbons based on qualifying under a new criteria. The threshold for obtaining Great Teamwork, Helpful, and Friendly ribbons have been lowered, making it easier to obtained, while the Honorable Opponent ribbon threshold has been increased. If you have a ribbon but do not qualify under the new criteria threshold, then you’ll have to re-earn that ribbon.

Though the changes may be implemented later rather than immediately, there’s no word on when these changes will go into effect.

Pokemon Black 2/White 2 to get Shiny Magikarp Event

Here’s a bit of an unusual event heading to Pokemon Black 2 and White 2: a special, super shiny Magikarp! The event Pokemon comes pre-leveled at Level 99, and its moveset contains Flail, Hydro Pump, Bounce, and, of course, Splash. The event has only been confirmed for the Japanese region as of this moment, but there may be a chance that this event will be coming to other regions soon afterwards. If you do have a Japanese version of the game, however, you can pick up this deadly Magikarp beginning March 20, 2013 all the way until May 6, 2013! Who’s laughing at Magikarp now?

On Feb. 17, Nintendo will release a new Wii U bundle in the U.S. and Canada that is an unbelievable value for fans. The Wii U ZombiU Deluxe Set comes with all the contents of the standard Wii U Deluxe Set, plus the addition of the ZombiU game, a black Wii U Pro Controller and a collectible booklet featuring artwork from the game and never-before-seen developer commentary. Nintendo Land will also be included as a downloadable game, rather than a packed-in disc. The jam-packed ZombiU Deluxe Set will be available at a suggested retail price of $389.99, a savings of $70 if all items were purchased separately.

In addition, people who purchase this bundle are automatically enrolled in the Digital Deluxe Promotion, a program that allows Wii U owners to receive 10 percent back in points for each download they purchase in the Nintendo eShop. These points can then be used for future Nintendo eShop purchases.

Created by Ubisoft, ZombiU is a survival-horror, first-person shooter game that puts players in the shoes of a human survivor in the middle of a terrifying plague that has infected modern-day London and turned everyone into flesh-eating zombies. ZombiU continues to be well-received by audiences and features second-screen game play that uses the Wii U GamePad controller to manage items or scan for hidden secrets in real time.

The Wii U Pro Controller is compatible with many games on Wii U. In ZombiU, it can be used by another player for local multiplayer matchups. It sports an ergonomic design and is more akin to a traditional video game controller, complete with dual analog sticks.

Wii U is the revolutionary new console from Nintendo that launched on Nov. 18. Since launch, Wii U has sold more than 3 million systems worldwide, as well as more than 11 million software units. Assassin’s Creed IV Detailed

It was announced by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot that the next installment of Assassin’s Creed will be featuring a new hero and a new time period. As some of you may know, Assassin’s Creed III left the current protagonist, well, kicking the bucket. Nevertheless, it would seem like we will not be seeing sequels to Assassin’s Creed III’s storyline like we have seen for Ezio Auditore’s arc.

There will, of course, be a new team developing the new Assassin’s Creed game, much like how Activision uses different developers to develop the yearly installment of Call of Duty games. This process allows each developing team to have more time to develop each game, alternating each year to allow more developing time. The next game, of course, should be out by April 2014, so we may have an absence of Assassin’s Creed game in 2013.

So, speculation time! What’s the next time period? Who’ll be the next protagonist? Will the new story be connected to the storyline set by the previous Assassin’s Creed game, or will the storyline take place years after the events of the previous games? Personally, our money is on an ancient Chinese time period, with a protagonist loosely tied to Desmond Miles, but taking place a few years after the events of Assassin’s Creed III. Nintendo Wii U Zombi U Bundle Confirmed for North America

A few days ago, we brought news that Canada was starting to sell the Wii U Zombi U bundle, but now we’ve got confirmation that the bundle will indeed be coming to North America. In addition to having most everything that the current Deluxe Bundle has to offer, you’ll get a black Wii U Pro Controller and a physical copy of Zombi U. Also, it was reported that Nintendo Land will also be available with the bundle, but will be a digital copy rather than a physical one, making this bundle even better: $70 cheaper if bought separately! No word yet on the release date.
