Rumor: CoroCoro Leak Reveals 4 New Pokemon

We’re on the verge of getting some new information about Pokemon X and Y, as promised by the producer of the game, however, it seems like we’ve got a bit of a sneak peek of 4 Pokemon from a recent “leak” of the CoroCoro magazine! The 4 Pokemon depicted appear to be your common run-of-the-mill Pokemon that you’ll see quite often at the beginning of your journey. Nevertheless, we’ll soon find out if this is legitimate or not, as the Japanese television show Pokemon Smash is set to release some new details on the game quite soon!

Rumor: Star Wars TV Series Leaked, Set to Bridge Episode VI and VII

There’s a bit of a rumor going around concerning the supposed leak of the next Star Wars animated TV series, entitled Star Wars: Reclamation. As you all know, the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series that Cartoon Network aired is now officially done with Disney’s acquisition of LucasArts, however, there were some hints from Disney that a new animated series would be produced in the future.

In any case, supposed pictures of the Star Wars: Reclamation concept papers were found, and it details the show’s general overview, premise, and character backgrounds. You can read a sample of the papers below:

RECLAMATION is a character-driven war epic set in the storied STAR WARS universe. Making use of decades of media as influence, it will be an all-new story designed to introduce the audience to themes and characters pivotal to EPISODE VII and beyond.

The show will feature a core ensemble cast of new and familiar characters, and explore their internal and collective struggles against the backdrop of a galaxy-spanning war. The focus will largely be on this group, but will shift occasionally to lesser characters and situations.

The format of the show will alternate between single-episode adventures and multi-episode arcs. The entire Galaxy is fair game, and any character can be the star. This method of storytelling will allow the audience to familiarize themselves with the characters intimately and to ground and contextualize the conflict.

Drawing from the talent and workflow structure employed in the creation of THE CLONE WARS animated series, our goal with RECLAMATION is to create a show with similarly wide appeal in terms of viewership and marketing possibilities. Besides again targeting children and young adults, we believe we can also appeal to the 18-49 demographic, by focusing on the ORIGINAL TRILOGY era characters and imagery.

Rumor: XBOX 360 Mini to Coincide with Next Generation XBOX

Welp, news is still scarce nowadays, so here’s a bit of an interesting rumor concerning the next XBOX (assuming that you’re not tired of them already!). The newest rumor states that Microsoft will release a “mini” version of the XBOX 360, much like how Nintendo released a Wii Mini console that was stripped of pretty much all features except for playing Wii games. This XBOX Mini will sport an always-online connection, and there will be no disc drive on board.

The purpose of the XBOX Mini is said to be to connect with the next generation XBOX, which rumors say will not actually require an always-online connection to play games. This would then allow the next generation XBOX to have backwards compatibility with digital renditions of XBOX 360 games. Nevertheless, whether or not these rumors prove to be true, we’ll all find out once the big XBOX reveal arrives next month!

Rumor: New Mewtwo Forme Revealed

Well… here’s a bit of interesting stuff: it seems like Japanese message boards are going wild with the supposed reveal of a new forme for Mewtwo (pictured below with the red Genesect, and again after that picture with a little better close-up). It comes with a theatrical poster with Pokemon Black/White and Black 2/White 2 logos at the bottom, possibly suggesting that the new forme may be available to download in those games. Thoughts?

Rumor: New Jynx Evolution Set for Pokemon X and Y

We’ve seen quite a few fakes recently for the new generation of Pokemon for the upcoming Pokemon X/Y games, but this particular one is gaining quite a bit of popularity. Introducing (the supposedly) next evolution for the first generation Pokemon, Jynx: Rujeria! Not much is known about Rujeria, other than her obviously slimmed down appearance and her Ice/Psychic attributes, and she has been announced through a supposed magazine scan. There’s already some widespread “FAKE!” going around, and it honestly wouldn’t surprise us if Rujeria were fake, but she seems cool nonetheless (who could ever deny a new evolution for some of the original 151 Pokemon?). Thoughts?

Rumor: Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut to be Released on Wii U

Amazon has listed a director’s cut version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution for the Wii U, with a product page that lists the game as releasing on May 7, 2013 for the price of $49.99 USD. Currently, Square Enix, the developer of the title, has yet to announce the game, however, a box art and a rather specific release date could point to an eventual announcement for the title.

Of course, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a rather old game, first released in 2011, but integrating Wii U controls could put a whole new spin on the game. Amazon does, however, detail that there will be improvements made over the standard version, as well as having GamePad integration and additional content to play through. Keep in mind, however, that nothing is confirmed just yet, but even though this would be a port, it could signal that more games are (finally) coming to the Wii U!

Rumor: Sony to Discontinue 3G PS Vita Models

Though Sony doesn’t want to slash the price of the PS Vitalike they did in Japan, a few North American retailers are already doing that… for the 3G model of the handheld system at least. At most retailers, you’ll now be able to snag a 3G PS Vita for about $199.99, which is $100 cheaper than the normal price. One of the retailers explained this sudden sale price as an effort to move out units since Sony would be discontinuing the model type.

When Japan got a price cut, Sony’s Japanese president Hiroshi Kawano explained that both systems were placed on the same price level to avoid confusion, since the general public seemed to not know the difference between 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. Of course, this probably might not be the reason why the 3G PS Vita models are getting discontinued here in the North American region, as there’s a rumor that Sony may be releasing a 4G PS Vita model sometime later this year. Nevertheless, if you’ve been looking for a good deal on one of the more premium models of the PS Vita, but price was an issue, you should snag one before they’re gone!

Rumor: Ubisoft Making New Assassin’s Creed Project, Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix

Just days after Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was announced and detailed, a “leak” for a potential project, Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix has spread over the interwebs. Though its just a logo and some background art, one should note that it was specifically made for the internal use of Ubisoft Digital Arts, indicating that this probably won’t be your usual console/handheld rendition of Assassin’s Creed. What it could be, however, is a mobile (iOS/Android) or social Facebook game, a visual novel, or perhaps a CGI movie of some sort. Thoughts?

Rumor: Christopher Nolan to Direct Justice League of America Movie

The Justice League of America movie has seen quite a few ups and downs, from writers to even directors who have dropped out from the movie. Well, an interesting rumor states that Christopher Nolan, known for his epic The Dark Knight trilogy and other well known masterpieces such as Inception, may be the next one up to helm the movie.

The rumor states that it is a possibility that Nolan will co-host with Zack Snyder, who directed the upcoming Superman reboot, Man of Steel. The movie, of course, was originally supposed to release June 2015, which still leaves a bit of room to work with, however, with complications such as screenplay popping up every now and then, the project has been pushed back constantly. With this said, Nolan would be working from scratch, putting his movie-making directing magic at work and accomplishing something that many weren’t able to do for a while.

In addition, though Christian Bale said The Dark Knight Rises would’ve been his last Batman film, he did state that Nolan would make the ultimate call. This potentially opens up the possibility that Bale would reprise his role as Batman for the upcoming movie, which would eliminate the need to reboot the Batman movie franchise so soon after Nolan’s epic trilogy. Additionally, as Snyder has been working on a Superman reboot, the movie could serve as a character introduction movie to tie in with Justice League of America (something that has been rumored for a while now).

Nevertheless, Warner Bros. is desperately looking to make the Justice League of America movie as successful as The Avengers by retaining the core essence of the DC-based superheroes. Nolan has done quite well with his Batman trilogy, and Snyder’s Man of Steel is looking to follow suit. Nevertheless, there’s still the other superheroes, such as Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Flash, Aquaman, and more to consider, so only time will tell.

Rumor: Next Generation XBOX Set for April Reveal

The PS4 reveal event has come and gone with mixed reviews (mostly good reviews, mind you), so all that’s left is Microsoft’s XBOX reveal, right? If some of you have been keeping close to the next generation console news, you may remember hearing that Sony was planning on letting Microsoft go first with the next generation XBOX reveal, but to everyone’s surprise, Sony acted first and revealed, at the very least, the DualShock4 and some of the potential launch games for the PS4.

The rumor stems from an XBOX PR consultant, who reportedly responded to the PS4 reveal and pegged April as the time when the next generation XBOX would be revealed. If past rumors are to be believed, however, the next generation XBOX will have an all new updated Kinect system, a user interface that could mirror Windows 8, a controller that is pretty similar to the current XBOX 360 controller, and the ability to use your tablets and smartphones via XBOX Smart Glass. Guess we’ll have to wait until April, or perhaps E3 2013, until the big reveal, eh?
