That didn’t take long! After a short leak that OXM US would have some details on the Tomb Raider multiplayer mode, the guys at IGN have found some information on some of the finer details of the new mode.
First off, there have been three modes that have been revealed. The first is Team Deathmatch, which will pit the survivors versus the locals in a fight to the death. Matches are a best-of-three affair, with players alternating between the two sides.
The second mode is Rescue, which is sort of like a cat-and-mouse type of game. The survivors must obtain packs and deliver them to various points on a map, while the locals must kill the survivors and impede their progress. Survivors will have a “bleed-out timer” that can be cut short by a simple attack by the locals, and assuming the timer follows standard timer-stuff, once it hits zero, you’re dead.
The third mode is Cry For Help, which is more Tomb Raider-esque in the sense that it’ll emphasize discovery and collection. This could very well be like a King of the Hill type mode, however, no other details have been revealed for this mode.
Also, as we predicted, Lara Croft will be MIA in these modes.
