Welcome to another installment of Weekly League, where we cover some of the changes to the Public Beta Environment (PBE) that are being tested for the worldwide public release! Please note that we won’t note all of the changes as we will only focus on some of the more major updates such as new champion information, item changes, and the such.
There have been some changes to the upcoming champion, Quinn and Valor, Demacia’s Wings (also known officially as Quinn, Demacia’s Wings). Mainly, the change comes to Quinn’s Skystrike ult, which has had its damage slightly reduced. The damage reduction isn’t too extreme, however, Skystrike essentially serves as a wide-range finisher move (since it’s damage scales based on how much health your opponent(s) currently have, with more damage done to opponents with lower health). With this change, players will have to do a bit more damage as Valor (during the Tag Team half of the ultimate) to ensure that Skystrike can either deal heavy damage or, optimistically, kill your opponent. Also to note, the Phoenix Quinn skin has been released to the PBE, so you can expect her public release within a week or two (assuming most of her bugs have been ironed out).
In other champion news, Darius is getting a nerf to his ultimate. As of now, Darius’ cooldown on his ultimate refreshes if he kills an opponent with the ultimate, but with the planned nerf, his cooldown will be reduced to 12 seconds rather than being available to use automatically. Additionally, his ultimate’s cooldown is being increased, so if you fail to kill your opponent, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer to use his ultimate again. Kayle’s Q ability is also getting a bit of nerf in terms of its power (all of its effects seem relatively untouched, though we’ll still continue to investigate this change).
AP Tryndamere has also seem some surprising plays lately, and a slight change to his Bloodlust ability, reducing the maximum AP scaling ratio from 1.5% to 1.2% at max fury (the scaling is now set at 0.1% per consumed Fury).
Also to note, Taric’s passive, Gemcraft, has had its bonus magic damage reduced from 4% to 2% of his maximum mana. This change significantly reduced his viability as a top lane or jungle-based champion, but still significantly increases his damage potential as a support champion.
Evelynn is also getting a few nerfs this time around, and this time, it centers around her ultimate, Agony’s Embrace. First off, Agony’s Embrace’s cooldown has been increased from 120 to 160 at max level, and her damage scaling is changing from the percentage of maximum health to the percentage of current health. This significantly reduces her ultimate’s damage, as well as reducing her ability to gank other lanes constantly due to the longer cooldown.
The nerf hammer is also affecting Amumu as well, but it’s mostly centered around his damage output (we’ll be investigating a little bit more on this change).
Lastly, the Celestine Soraka skin has been released to the PBE.
