A while back, the third installment of the Pokemon Rumble series, deemed Pokemon Rumble U for the Nintendo Wii U eShop, was announced. The game will feature the same toy-ish graphic design, but in addition, it will also be featuring integration with real toys through the use of the Wii U GamePad’s NFC (Near Field Communication) port (a la Skylanders and the Skylanders port).
In terms of the story for Pokemon Rumble U, you’ll find your toy Pokemon falling into a river, and your task is to return back to the toy shop. Figures that you buy in real life will be trainable, and you’ll also be able to record battle information on each figure. Once the game comes out in Japan, 6 standard figures and 1 special figure will be released, but the only confirmation so far is a Pikachu figure. The game is set to be released for ¥1800, while figures will be available for ¥200 each. For those wondering what the conversion rates are, it’ll be £12.60/$18.80 for the game, and £1.40/$2.10 for the figures. No word yet on a release outside of Japan.
