Welcome to yet another installment of Weekly League, where we’ll detail some of the upcoming changes currently being tested in the League of Legends Public Beta Environment (PBE)! Though we won’t be able to detail all of the changes, we will go over most of the major ones as well as future changes such as new champions and game modes.
The Ice Age is upon the Summoner’s Rift, as champions both new and old are getting chilly makeovers and introductions! First up is the new champion Lissandra, the Ice Witch. Though she has yet to become available for PBE testing, her moveset, lore, and tips have been unveiled by Riot (which you can view here!)
Sejuani and Trundle are both getting some minor reworks. For Sejuani, she’s getting a new default skin and a slightly different moveset with a few more variations of crowd-control (CC), while Trundle is getting an iced-based default skin complete with slightly reworked move mechanics. As with the last Karma rework, those who already own Sejuani or Trundle prior to the official release of the reworks will have the ability to use the traditional skin in addition to the new default skin. Both of their new splash art and reworked ability details can be seen here!
Achievement-based summoner icons are also being tested right now! In the past, achievement-based icons could be achieved during special events, such as The Harrowing (Halloween), Snowdown Showdown (Christmas), and the Lunar Revel (Chinese New Year). What’s being tested right now, however, is an “icon crediting method,” in which you choose a default icon, win 10 matches, and you’ll be granted a new icon. Of course, you’ll have to use the same icon until you reach 10 wins, because if you switch between your icons, you’re win count will be reset to 1. Co-Op vs. Ai and custom matches do not count towards your win count, so you’ll have to brave through PvP and ranked matches to obtain these upgraded icons. Also, you can only get one “10-win achievement” icon, so if you go for another icon, you’ll lose the previous one.
