Back when the PS3 and PSP were a thing, Sony implemented remote play so that you could stream your PS3 games onto your PSP via Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, it didn’t go over so well, as lags and other things would’ve plagued the game on the PSP. Now, Sony promises a better system to do all of your wi-fi remote play gaming via the PS Vita and PS4, all with a few simple maneuvers to make it much more fluid.
The only obstacle now is your Internet connection quality; as long as it’s good enough, your games will stream perfectly from the PS4 all the way to your PS Vita no matter where you are! The only games that will be excluded are those that would require external peripherals, such as a camera, but all other games that can make use of the PS Vita’s buttons are up for grabs for this updated remote play feature. So, how is the PS4/PS Vita going to achieve smooth remote play functionality? The PS4 will be using its built in h.264 video encoder, which will remove much of what the PS Vita would have to process by itself.
