A few days ago, Nintendo announced that there’ll be some special edition versions of the 3DS XL (or LL in Japan) featuring the two cover Pokemon for Pokemon X and Y: Xerneas and Yveltal. In any case, it wasn’t until recently that the two systems were revealed, so be prepared to meet the Xerneas and Yveltal blue 3DS XL and the Premium Gold 3DS XL!
As you can see, the blue version has a similar design as the past Pokemon editions that were made for the DS line, but the gold version seems to feature a more Norse-esque design and feel (as well as having silhouettes of the three starters!). In any case, these systems are currently limited to Japan only, priced at ￥22,800 ($229 USD) packed with a copy of the game (unsure if it’s X or Y at the moment), a 4 GB SD card, and everything else that comes with a standard 3DS XL system. Additionally, the gold version of the system will be exclusive to Japan’s Pokemon Center, but both will be released once the game launches worldwide on October 12, 2013.
