Have you ever wondered, “Man, I should be rewarded some Riot Points for spending money?” Well, if you did, then American Express has the card just for you! Introducing the League of Legends debit card, which will net you a few Riot Points whenever you spend money to it among other objectives. The details aren’t exactly clear, as the card is set to be officially unveiled on Wednesday (Aug. 14, 2013), but we do have a few vague details that have been unveiled.
First off, when you sign up for a card, users will receive 1,000 points, and if you add $20 USD to the card, you’ll get another 1,000 point bonus. You’ll get bonus points for the first 10 purchases if you use the card, and a 10,000 point bonus if you link your card to a direct deposit account. No word yet on how many points you can earn per dollar spent.
The new League of Legends debit cards don’t have any activation fees or credit checks, so it is by and by an actual debit card. So for anyone who spends tons of money on the game itself, you might be able to new yourself a few extra Riot Points if you use the new card to buy all of your champions, skins, and boosts.
