So, with the “always-on” connection stance reversed, Microsoft has made another reversal: Kinect will no longer be required for the XBOX One to be fully functional. All of the core features of the XBOX One, such as playing games or watching movies, will be accessible to those that would’ve chosen to disconnect the Kinect from the console itself, but Kinect specific features like player identification and voice commands will not be available unless the Kinect is connected and turned on.
With this said, speculation is pointing that we may be seeing some systems that won’t be bundled with the new Kinect sensor, possibly allowing for cheaper consoles that can stand competitive against the upcoming PS4. So, what do you think? Are there any more changes that you want Microsoft to do before the XBOX One drops this Fall?
