The last of three announcements that Valve has planned for this week ends with the reveal of the Steam Controller, which is set to be bundled with every Steam Machine!
The controller may be quite different from what you’re used to on traditional gaming consoles. There’s essentially nine buttons, seven of which are on the face of the controller and two of which serve as traditional triggers. Instead of analogue sticks, however, we’ll be getting two trackpads, both of which are clickable and reportedly “better”. Additionally, there’ll be a small screen on the face of the controller where you can hotkey a few shortcuts. A basic control layout for Portal 2 can be seen below, so any thoughts?
