Day one updates for consoles aren’t anything new, and it’s kind of expected in some instances since consoles are created and packed long before additional updates are developed. For the XBOX One though, it would seem as if the current version of the firmware that ships with the console will essentially render the console unable to do much of anything, thus requiring users to connect to the internet and download the Day One firmware update.
So, what’s actually affected? Well, the built-in apps and disk based games of course, so in order to use anything on the XBOX One, you will need that shiny new update.
Internet explorer released a strange animated video on it’s official youtube account today. It depicts a heroine by the name of Inori Aizawa trying to escape a group of robots. Later transforming in what seems to be a Sailor Moon-esque style, she battles these robots only for the video to fade out just as a speculated major enemy rises up in the background.
Apparently this heroine is also IE’s new mascot character, explained further at the link provided at the end of the video. It directs to a facebook page dedicated to Inori Aizawa, where she seems to be given a personality and brief insight into her character.
Not much is known as to what they’re going to do with this new mascot, but it has a lot of potential with this new business move. Will this be the precursor to a possible anime series? Will other browsers follow this trend and/or join in with this? What possibilities could the rise of Inori Aizawa bring to the table?!
