So, did you want to play Battlefield 3 before Battlefield 4 came out, but never got the chance? Well, you might have a chance, as a supposed code is allowing people to put it in to EA’s Origin and gain a free copy of Battlefield 3. The code has been reported to be hit-or-miss, but it seems to be a universal, multi-use code. If you want it, all you’ll have to do is enter the following:
into Origin, and you might score a copy of Battlefield 3.
So, fair warning: potential spoilers below.
How did you guys like how Iron Man 3 played out? Some liked it, most didn’t, but it was definitely quite a bit of a surprise. You can imagine, then, that it was also a surprise that Ben Kingsley was contracted by Marvel to do a super-secret project within the Marvel universe, and what could it be?
If rumors prove to be true, Kingsley’s secret project is a Marvel One-Shot featuring the real Mandarin, who, after the events of Iron Man 3, is apparently quite upset of Trevor’s impersonation. How’s this sound to set up a potential Iron Man 4? Of course, One Shots usually don’t amount to anything, but it could serve as a pretty good opportunity to give Iron Man fans the Mandarin they deserve, right?
So, the PS Vita has been around for a while now, but it hasn’t exactly peaked at sales. Though there are some fantastic games on the system, and with the upcoming PS4-PS Vita connectivity features, it’s a surprise that it hasn’t gathered the attention the 3DS has been getting. So, what’s left to do?
Sony has been rumored to be getting ready to unveil the second generation of PS Vita systems before this year’s Tokyo Game Show, and will be hosting a large 6.3″ screen and an increase in RAM over the first generation model. The design of the new Vita itself is said to mirror the PS4, though that could look a bit strange if the new system is as blocky as the PS4. Nevertheless, if the rumors are true, we’ll be hearing about it shortly.
With the upcoming introduction of the next generation PS4 console, the PS Vita will become much more important as Sony is emphasizing features such as improved remote play and inter-connectivity between the two systems.
So, if the rumors are true, we may be seeing a potential bundle of the two systems for around $500 USD, which would be much cheaper than buying them separately ($399.99 for a PS4, and $249.99 for a PS Vita. $649.98 total). Though Sony fans may not necessarily need this bundle, as most may already have a PS Vita, this would be a great introduction for players who have been on the fence about the Playstation brand in general. Rumors point to this bundle’s reveal at Gamescom later this year.
So, Guardians of the Galaxy is all set to release next Summer (August 1st, 2014 to be exact), but although we have faces to match the heroes of the movie, what about the villains? Of course, we’ve already got three names down: Karen Gillan (of Doctor Who fame), Lee Pace, and Benicio del Toro. Now, it appears like we now know who these guys will be playing!
Benicio del Toro will be assuming the role of The Collector, an alien who can harness cosmic energy, see the future, and challenge the power of the Elders of the Universe. Lee Pace will be playing Ronan the Accuser, a high-ranking Kree member with an exoskeleton armor that can enhance his own abilities. Lastly, Karen Gillan will be taking up the role as Nebula, a space pirate with weapons that could incinerate her (human) enemies within seconds.
So, it’s pretty much a known fact by now: the Star Wars franchise now belongs to Disney, and Disney has a few plans to milk the franchise for all its worth. With a few theme park attractions set, could the franchise see an inclusion in the upcoming highly-anticipated Kingdom Hearts III? Perhaps.
Tetsuya Nomura, the creator of Kingdom Hearts, has recently said that ever since Disney acquired the rights to Star Wars, there have been talks about including the universe to merge into the Kingdom Hearts universe. Of course, there’s only a slim chance at the moment, as Disney has a few rules and restrictions, but who knows? We might see some Star Wars characters wield some keyblades once the game releases!
We’re on the verge of getting some new information about Pokemon X and Y, as promised by the producer of the game, however, it seems like we’ve got a bit of a sneak peek of 4 Pokemon from a recent “leak” of the CoroCoro magazine! The 4 Pokemon depicted appear to be your common run-of-the-mill Pokemon that you’ll see quite often at the beginning of your journey. Nevertheless, we’ll soon find out if this is legitimate or not, as the Japanese television show Pokemon Smash is set to release some new details on the game quite soon!
