If you didn’t think Disney was going to milk the Star Wars franchise bone dry, you might want to change your mind after hearing this: Disney is aiming to make spin-off movies to coincide with the next trilogy set (Episode VII, VII, and IX).
Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg have been drafted to work on these spin-off films, as well as working with newly appointed Star Wars director J.J. Abrams on the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII. Currently, within the span of six years beginning in 2015, the next Star Wars trilogy will be released sporadically throughout that time period. This places Episode VII to be released sometime on 2015, Episode VIII on 2018, and Episode IX on 2021, with the spin-off movies probably set in between the three year gap for each movie. Thoughts?
