Hot off the trail of the recent Six Samurai structure deck announcement, Konami has also announced the new Gold Series 5: Haunted Mine! This new set will bring the first ever Ghost Rare Gold Rare hybrid card! There are six of these special rare cards: Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, Herald of Perfection, Naturia Barkion, Mystical Space Typhoon, and Solemn Judgment! You can read the full statement below:
Summer is the best time to soak up some golden sunshine, so that’s when we always release our annual Gold Series boxes. And this year, we’re adding another twist!
Both ghosts and gold await you in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Gold Series: Haunted Mine, the first time ever to see the new Ghost/Gold Rare hybrid cards – with the luster of a gold rare and the 3D holographic illustration of a Ghost Rare!
There will be 6 Ghost/Gold Rares to collect. And since these are so cool, we selected 6 different kinds of cards, so we could print on as many card frame colors as possible, to see how they looked. You can get Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, Herald of Perfection, Naturia Barkion, Mystical Space Typhoon, and Solemn Judgment. (Yes, this will be the first time ever that we’ve released Spell and Trap Cards with 3D holographic Ghost Rare artwork!)
You can also get new ‘standard’ (if there is such a thing) Gold Rare versions of cards like Fabled Grimro, Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, Starlight Road, Formula Synchron, and Karakuri Steel Shogun mdl 00X “Bureido”.
All this treasure comes with a catch, though – this particular gold mine is haunted! When gold and ghosts come together, mayhem is sure to follow. A horde of Zombies, and some of the deadliest Trap Monsters ever created, are protecting the fantastic treasure hidden in the mine! So we’ve enlisted the best thieves in the business to help crack it open: Don Zaloog and his Dark Scorpions!
Each box comes with 1 Ghost/Gold Rare, plus 2 ‘standard’ Gold Rares and 22 Common Cards. Total set size: 55 cards. (Normally, Gold Series sets are 50 cards, but Don Zaloog insisted on bringing his entire team.…)
Available on June 12!
